Plant-Based Plate Workshops
Our NGO is committed to promoting food awareness, nutrition, and sustainable food choices through hands-on workshops focused on plant-based dishes. Led by microbiologist and food expert Erika Gioahin, these workshops teach participants how to prepare nutritious, flavorful, and eco-friendly meals using whole plant-based ingredients.
1. Fermented Vegetables and Fruits (helath & sustainability)
In this session, participants learn how to prepare lacto-fermented vegetables and fruits, such as sauerkraut, kimchi, and pickles. The focus is on creating healthy, probiotic-rich dishes thta promote gut health and nutrition using simple, natural preservation techniques.
2. Fermented Milk Alternatives (helath & sustainability)
This workshop explores how to create plant-based dairy alternatives, including vegan cheeses, yogurts, and kefir. Participants learn about using ingredients like nuts, seeds, and legumes to make rich, creamy dairy-free options while also understanding the importance of food labels and how to make healthier choices in the store.
3. Plant-Based Dish Preparation and Food Labeling
Participants discover how to prepare balanced, whole plant-based meals while learning the essentials of reading food labels. This workshop emphasizes the importance of nutrition, quality ingredients, and making informed food choices, guiding participants in selecting the best products for their plant-based lifestyle.
Through these workshops, our NGO encourages a healthier, more sustainable food culture, empowering individuals to make informed, nutritious, and eco-friendly food choices.
Yoga and mindfulness for social inclusion and wellbeing
Our NGO is dedicated to organizing weekly yoga and mindfulness workshops in the rural areas of Tržič, focusing on fostering social inclusion and strengthening the sense of community.
These workshops provide a supportive environment where participants can explore the transformative benefits of yoga and mindfulness practices. By offering regular opportunities to practice, we aim to improve both physical and mental well-being, fostering a more peaceful and balanced life for everyone involved.
Our focus is not only on personal growth but also on building connections between individuals from different backgrounds, encouraging mutual support and understanding. In addition, we offer specialized sessions for visually impaired individuals, ensuring that yoga and mindfulness are accessible to everyone, regardless of their physical abilities. Through these efforts, we strive to create a more inclusive, connected, and resilient community in Tržižič, especially for women.
